Introduction
Swelling and discomfort in the hands or feet can generally be relieved by elevating the affected limb, resting and protecting the area, applying cold compresses, taking medication, and using compression bandages. Elevate the injured hand to promote blood circulation and help reduce swelling. Try to keep the hand elevated above heart level, for example, by placing it on a pillow or a cushion against the wall. If the condition is severe, consult a doctor.

Swelling and discomfort in the hands or feet can generally be relieved by elevating the affected limb, resting and protecting the area, applying cold compresses, taking medications, and using compression bandages.

1. Elevate the hand: Raise the injured hand to promote blood circulation and help reduce swelling. Try to keep the hand elevated above heart level, for example, by placing it on a pillow or a cushion against the wall.

2. Rest and protection: Avoid overusing the injured hand, and minimize exercises, movements, or postures that may place additional stress or injury on the affected area.

3. Cold compress: Gently applying a cold compress to the injured area can help reduce swelling and inflammation. Use an ice pack, cold damp towel, or cold gel pack on the affected site for about 15–20 minutes at a time. Protect the skin and avoid direct contact with ice.

4. Medications: Pain-relieving medications such as Huoxue Zhitong Capsules or Celecoxib Capsules may help reduce pain. However, consult a doctor or pharmacist before using any medication.

5. Compression bandage: Wrap the injured area with an elastic bandage to provide mild pressure. This helps reduce swelling and stabilize the injured region. Ensure the bandage is not too tight to avoid impairing blood flow.

If symptoms are severe, consult a doctor for an accurate diagnosis and proper treatment.
