Introduction
Pressure sores usually refer to pressure ulcers, which typically result from prolonged pressure on local tissues, leading to sustained ischemia, hypoxia, malnutrition, and ultimately tissue ulceration and necrosis. Under medical guidance, patients may use topical ointments such as mupirocin ointment, rubber myogenic ointment, Chuangzhuo ointment, Longzhu ointment, or Shangtongning plaster for treatment. In summary, selecting appropriate ointments is crucial for the management of pressure ulcers.

Pressure sores usually refer to pressure ulcers, which generally occur due to prolonged pressure on local tissues, leading to sustained ischemia, hypoxia, and malnutrition that result in tissue ulceration and necrosis. Patients may use topical ointments such as mupirocin ointment, rubber-promoting granulation ointment (xiangpi shengji膏), Chuangzhuo ointment, Longzhu ointment, or Shangtongning plaster under medical guidance. Specific analysis is as follows:

1. Mupirocin Ointment: Mupirocin ointment is a topical antibiotic medication. When pressure ulcers are complicated by bacterial infection, mupirocin ointment can inhibit bacterial growth and reproduction, providing anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antipruritic effects.

2. Rubber-Promoting Granulation Ointment (Xiangpi Shengji膏): This ointment is primarily used for treating open wounds and has functions of promoting blood circulation, removing blood stasis, reducing swelling, and relieving pain. For patients with pressure ulcers, it can alleviate pain and redness/swelling and promote wound healing.

3. Chuangzhuo Ointment: This medication is mainly used to remove toxins and promote tissue regeneration. It is effective in treating small-area superficial ulcers such as pressure ulcers and bedsores. Note that pregnant and lactating women should use it only under physician supervision, and individuals with allergic constitutions should use it cautiously.

4. Longzhu Ointment: The main actions of Longzhu ointment include clearing heat and detoxifying, removing necrotic tissue, promoting new tissue growth, and reducing swelling and pain. It is commonly used to treat acne, chronic ulcers, bedsores, and pressure ulcers. Application should be based on the patient's condition and doctor’s advice, and may require combination with other treatments such as debridement.

5. Shangtongning Plaster: This medication is primarily used to relieve various types of pain, including pain caused by pressure ulcers. However, it is not specifically designed for treating pressure ulcers; therefore, comprehensive treatment combining other therapeutic methods is necessary when using this plaster.

In summary, selecting appropriate topical ointments is crucial for patients with pressure ulcers. Additionally, maintaining proper local hygiene and care during treatment is essential to prevent further deterioration and infection of the ulcers.
