Introduction
Dendrobium officinale (Tiepi Shihu) should generally not be consumed for prolonged periods. If Dendrobium officinale is needed, it should be taken under the guidance of a physician to avoid delaying proper treatment and causing adverse effects. Dendrobium officinale is a traditional Chinese herb with a slightly cold nature and sweet taste. It is primarily used to treat conditions such as fluid deficiency due to febrile diseases, dry mouth and excessive thirst, insufficient stomach yin, hyperactivity of fire due to yin deficiency, and weakness or softness of tendons and bones.

Iron皮 Dendrobium (Dendrobium officinale) is generally not recommended for long-term consumption. If Iron皮 Dendrobium is needed, it should be taken under the guidance of a physician to avoid delaying proper treatment and causing adverse effects.

Iron皮 Dendrobium is a traditional Chinese herb with a slightly cold nature and sweet taste. It is primarily used to treat conditions such as fluid damage from febrile diseases, dry mouth and excessive thirst, insufficient stomach yin, hyperactivity of fire due to yin deficiency, and weakness in muscles and bones. It has the functions of benefiting the stomach, promoting body fluid production, nourishing yin, and clearing heat. Regular consumption by steeping in water may help nourish the stomach and lungs, moisten dryness, generate fluids, alleviate lung heat, relieve dry mouth and thirst, and enhance immunity.

Due to its slightly cold nature, excessive intake of Iron皮 Dendrobium may cause convulsions or worsen symptoms of spleen and stomach cold deficiency—such as abdominal pain, nausea, and diarrhea—in individuals with cold constitution or loose stools. Long-term use may lead to kidney yang deficiency, negatively affecting overall health.

Although Iron皮 Dendrobium offers various health benefits, excessive consumption may cause discomforts such as diarrhea and nausea. Therefore, dosage should be carefully controlled, and prolonged or high-dose use should be avoided. Additionally, individuals allergic to Iron皮 Dendrobium should not use it. It is also contraindicated for those in the early stages of warm-heat diseases without yin injury, cases of damp-warm disease before transformation into dryness, and individuals with spleen-stomach cold deficiency.
