Introduction
In the early stages of nasal cancer, symptoms such as nasal obstruction, nosebleeds, discharge, abnormalities in smell and taste, and facial numbness or pain may occur. Early-stage nasopharyngeal cancer may present with symptoms including nasal congestion or runny nose, blood-tinged nasal discharge, tinnitus or hearing loss, neck masses, and throat pain or discomfort. If these symptoms occur, especially if they persist or progressively worsen, prompt medical consultation is recommended for thorough examination and diagnosis.

Generally, early-stage nasal cancer may present symptoms such as nasal obstruction, nosebleeds, discharge, abnormalities of smell and taste, facial numbness, and pain. Early-stage nasopharyngeal cancer may present symptoms including nasal obstruction or runny nose, blood-tinged nasal discharge, tinnitus or hearing loss, neck masses, throat pain or discomfort. Detailed analysis is as follows:

I. Nasal Cancer

1. Nasal obstruction: One of the most common symptoms in the early stages of nasal cancer is nasal blockage or congestion. As the tumor grows, the space within the nasal cavity becomes restricted, reducing airflow and causing a sensation of nasal obstruction.

2. Nosebleeds: Patients with nasal cancer often experience persistent nosebleeds, with blood appearing bright red, dark red, or mixed with other substances. Particularly upon waking in the morning, small amounts of blood may appear when drawing nasal secretions backward into the throat, resulting in blood streaks in sputum.

3. Discharge: Nasal secretions in nasal cancer patients may include continuous flow of mucus, sometimes foul-smelling, and possibly blood-tinged or intermittently bloody.

4. Abnormalities of smell and taste: If the tumor further invades the olfactory nerves, patients may experience loss of smell or altered taste sensation.

5. Facial numbness and pain: Some patients may experience facial numbness. If the skin on the side suspected of tumor development feels needle-like numbness, or if there is nasal or facial pain of varying severity, it may be related to the tumor.

II. Nasopharyngeal Cancer

1. Nasal obstruction or runny nose: Nasopharyngeal cancer can block nasal passages, leading to nasal congestion or a runny nose.

2. Blood-tinged nasal discharge: Patients with nasopharyngeal cancer may notice small blood streaks in nasal discharge, which may sometimes be overlooked.

3. Tinnitus or hearing loss: Nasopharyngeal cancer may block the Eustachian tube, leading to tinnitus or decreased hearing.

4. Neck mass: Patients with nasopharyngeal cancer may develop painless neck masses that progressively enlarge, with a nodular surface, hard consistency, and limited mobility upon palpation.

5. Throat pain or discomfort: Nasopharyngeal cancer may cause throat pain or a sensation of discomfort, with symptoms such as throat pain, itching, or a foreign body sensation.

If these symptoms occur, especially if they persist or progressively worsen, timely medical consultation for detailed examination and diagnosis is necessary. Early detection of nasal and paranasal sinus tumors can be achieved through specialist evaluation and relevant imaging studies, followed by appropriate treatment.
