Introduction
Under normal circumstances, yacon (Smallanthus sonchifolius) is incompatible with tea, seafood, honey, persimmons, milk, and other similar foods. When consumed together with tea, the tannic acid in tea may combine with fructooligosaccharides and cellulose in yacon, forming indigestible precipitates that may affect digestion and absorption. Although the above-mentioned foods are considered incompatible with yacon, this does not necessarily mean they can never be consumed together.

Generally speaking, Yacon (Smallanthus sonchifolius) is incompatible with tea, seafood, honey, persimmon, milk, and other similar items. The specific analysis is as follows:

1. Tea

Consuming Yacon with tea may cause the tannic acid in the tea to bind with fructooligosaccharides and cellulose in Yacon, forming indigestible precipitates that can interfere with digestion and absorption.

2. Seafood

Consuming Yacon with seafood may lead to the formation of indigestible substances when the proteins and minerals in seafood interact with fructooligosaccharides and cellulose in Yacon, potentially causing indigestion, abdominal pain, and other symptoms.

3. Honey

Consuming Yacon with honey might trigger adverse chemical reactions due to the interaction between various enzymes present in honey and the fructooligosaccharides in Yacon.

4. Persimmon

Consuming Yacon with persimmon may result in the formation of indigestible precipitates in the gastrointestinal tract due to their high content of tannic acid and pectin, which can lead to indigestion and gastrointestinal discomfort.

5. Milk

Yacon contains large amounts of fructooligosaccharides, which may cause milk proteins to coagulate when combined, affecting digestion and absorption and potentially causing bloating, diarrhea, and other discomforts.

Although the above-mentioned foods are considered incompatible with Yacon, this does not mean they absolutely cannot be consumed together. In daily diets, these foods can be consumed in moderation according to individual constitution and health status, while paying attention to bodily reactions.
