Introduction
Cervical cysts, also known as cervical gland retention cysts, nabothian cysts, or nabothian gland cysts, are a manifestation of cervicitis. They primarily occur during the healing process of cervicitis when secretions from cervical glands become trapped due to blockage of the cervical gland ducts caused by excessive proliferation of newly formed squamous epithelium, resulting in the formation of small cystic vesicles. During gynecological examination, cervical cysts may present as areas of increased echogenicity within the cervical canal.

Generally, cervical cysts can cause high echogenicity in the cervical canal. If there is any discomfort, timely medical consultation is recommended. Detailed analysis is as follows:

However, apart from cervical cysts, high echogenicity in the cervical canal may also be caused by other factors such as cervical polyps or cervical cancer. Therefore, when patients exhibit high echogenicity in the cervical canal, timely medical consultation and further examinations are necessary to determine the exact underlying cause.

Patients should maintain personal hygiene, keep the external genitalia clean, avoid unhygienic sexual activity, and reduce inflammatory irritation. Additionally, regular gynecological check-ups should be conducted to promptly detect and treat gynecological conditions such as cervical cysts.
