Thickening of pulmonary nodules, especially when the nodules have irregular shapes, unclear boundaries, or features such as spiculation or lobulation, may indicate a tumor. Tumorous pulmonary nodules can be early signs of lung cancer or the result of metastasis from malignant tumors in other parts of the body. In such cases, further medical examinations, such as contrast-enhanced CT scans and tumor marker tests, are typically required for a definitive diagnosis. The patient has no significant tumor risk factors, and other tests, such as blood tests and sputum cytology, reveal no abnormalities.

When pulmonary nodule thickening occurs, timely medical consultation is necessary for diagnosis and treatment. It is also advisable to maintain a light diet, quit smoking, limit alcohol consumption, and enhance immunity, which can help prevent and control disease progression.
