Introduction
Under normal circumstances, Geranium (Lao Guan Cao) can treat numbness. Geranium has a pungent and bitter taste, is neutral in nature, and enters the liver, kidney, and spleen meridians. It functions to dispel wind-dampness, promote circulation of the meridians, clear heat toxins, and stop diarrhea and dysentery. Its effects in dispelling wind-dampness and promoting meridian circulation are particularly important, effectively improving symptoms such as limb numbness and joint pain caused by obstruction of wind-dampness and poor circulation of the meridians.

Under normal circumstances, geranium can treat numbness. The specific analysis is as follows:

Geranium has a pungent and bitter taste, is neutral in nature, and enters the liver, kidney, and spleen meridians. It has functions of dispelling wind-dampness, promoting circulation of meridians, clearing heat toxins, and stopping diarrhea and dysentery. Its effects in dispelling wind-dampness and promoting meridian circulation are particularly important, effectively improving symptoms such as limb numbness and muscle or bone pain caused by obstruction of wind-dampness and poor circulation of meridians. This characteristic makes it a commonly used medication for treating rheumatic diseases and related numbness symptoms.

Symptoms of numbness are often closely related to poor circulation of qi and blood and blocked meridians. Geranium helps relieve muscle tension, eliminate pathogenic cold-dampness from the meridians, and restore normal sensory function in the extremities by promoting the muscles, bones, and skin腠 (superficial tissues). Its blood-activating and meridian-connecting properties are especially suitable for treating symptoms such as numbness, stiffness, and joint discomfort caused by invasion of wind-cold-damp pathogens.

Although geranium has therapeutic effects on numbness symptoms, caution is still required during use. Its medicinal property primarily expels pathogenic factors; therefore, patients with weak constitutions should use it in combination with tonic herbs. Pregnant and lactating women should avoid using it. It is recommended that patients follow the guidance of a TCM physician for appropriate medication, strictly control dosage and treatment duration, and monitor drug reactions to ensure safe and effective treatment.
