Can I eat Artemisia argyi during my menstrual period?
Women with a generally good physical condition can usually consume white wormwood (Artemisia argyi) during their menstrual period. However, those with a weaker constitution generally should not.

White wormwood is a plant considered both food and medicine, containing various vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients that can help supplement the body's nutritional needs. Additionally, white wormwood has medicinal properties, such as clearing heat, removing dampness, cooling the blood, and stopping bleeding. It may help alleviate certain discomforts during menstruation caused by internal damp-heat, such as irritability and bitter taste in the mouth. When consumed within normal quantities, its effect of cooling the blood and stopping bleeding typically does not significantly interfere with the normal menstrual cycle.
For women with cold-deficient constitutions, heavy menstrual flow, or other gynecological conditions, consuming white wormwood during menstruation may not be appropriate. Since white wormwood is cool in nature, excessive consumption may worsen internal coldness, leading to increased menstrual flow, prolonged menstruation, or even abdominal pain and other discomforts.
Maintaining healthy eating habits and avoiding excessively cold or stimulating foods can help maintain a regular menstrual cycle and overall health.
