Astragalus is a common traditional Chinese herb rich in saponins, polysaccharides, and various amino acids, which helps to replenish qi, strengthen the body's defenses, and enhance immunity. Radishes contain vitamin C, dietary fiber, and mustard oil, which aid digestion and promote the resolution of phlegm. When consumed together in appropriate amounts, these two ingredients can complement each other's benefits and are commonly used together in soups. Normal consumption generally does not cause adverse reactions.

However, astragalus is warm in nature, while radish is cool in nature. Although their properties do not obviously conflict, consuming large quantities together may affect the function of the spleen and stomach due to their opposing natures. Individuals with spleen and stomach cold deficiency should consume them cautiously. Additionally, since radish helps digestion and relieves flatulence, consuming it in large amounts with astragalus may somewhat reduce astragalus's qi-replenishing effects. It is recommended to adjust the amount consumed according to one's constitution.

When consuming astragalus and radish, the quantity should be controlled according to individual constitution and health needs. During cooking, it is recommended to first decoct astragalus for its juice before combining it with radish. Overconsumption should be avoided to maintain good health.
