Introduction
Under normal circumstances, semen is edible but its consumption is not recommended. Semen is primarily composed of sperm and seminal plasma, the latter consisting of water, proteins, fructose, peptides, amino acids, enzymes, lactic acid, and inorganic salts. These components naturally exist in the human body and are not harmful from a physiological perspective. However, from a hygiene standpoint, consumption is not advised.

Generally speaking, semen is edible but not recommended for consumption. The detailed analysis is as follows:

Semen mainly consists of sperm and seminal plasma. The components of seminal plasma include water, proteins, fructose, peptides, amino acids, enzymes, lactic acid, and inorganic salts. These components naturally exist in the human body and are not harmful substances from a physiological perspective. Therefore, based purely on chemical composition, semen is theoretically ingestible.

However, although semen is not toxic or harmful physiologically, it is not recommended for consumption from a hygiene standpoint. Semen may carry bacteria, viruses, or other microorganisms, especially if the individual has a sexually transmitted disease or a urinary tract infection. Additionally, the taste and texture of semen may vary among individuals and could cause discomfort or aversion in those who are not accustomed to it.

It is recommended to practice safe contraception during sexual activity, such as using condoms, to prevent sexually transmitted diseases and unintended pregnancy.
