Introduction
The extraction methods of luffa water generally include distillation, juice pressing and filtration, natural fermentation, decoction and concentration, and solvent extraction. Select fresh, mature luffa, wash and cut it into small pieces, then place them into a distillation apparatus. By heating, the water contained in the luffa evaporates into steam, which is then cooled through a condenser tube and re-liquefied to obtain luffa water. This method can reduce impurities and extract relatively pure luffa water.

There are generally several methods for extracting luffa water, including distillation, juice pressing and filtration, natural fermentation, decoction and concentration, and solvent extraction. The specific methods are analyzed as follows:

1. Distillation: Select fresh, mature luffa, wash and cut into small pieces, and place into distillation equipment. By heating, the moisture in the luffa evaporates into steam, which is then cooled through a condenser tube and reverts to liquid form, producing luffa water. This method reduces impurities and extracts relatively pure luffa water while preserving its active ingredients.

2. Juice pressing and filtration: Peel and remove the seeds from the luffa, cut it into small pieces, and place into a juicer to extract the juice. Filter the luffa juice multiple times using layers of gauze or a filter mesh to remove residue and obtain relatively clear luffa water. This method is simple and allows for rapid extraction of luffa water, although it may contain small amounts of fine fibers.

3. Natural fermentation: Wash and chop the luffa, place it into a clean container, add an appropriate amount of water, and seal the container, placing it in a cool, well-ventilated area. After a period of fermentation, microorganisms break down the luffa tissue, releasing juice. After fermentation is complete, filter the mixture to obtain fermented luffa water. This method alters the original composition of the luffa water.

4. Decoction and concentration: Cut the luffa into thin slices or strips, place into a pot, add an appropriate amount of water, and simmer gently. After partial evaporation of the water, filter the cooked luffa juice to remove residue, then heat the filtrate to further concentrate it, yielding luffa water with a higher concentration and partially preserved nutrients.

5. Solvent extraction: Choose an appropriate solvent, such as ethanol, and mix it with chopped luffa. Under controlled temperature and time conditions, allow the solvent to fully extract the active ingredients from the luffa. Afterward, remove the solvent via distillation or other methods to obtain a concentrated luffa water extract. This method requires professional equipment and reagents.

To ensure quality when extracting luffa water, use fresh and hygienic ingredients and maintain clean equipment throughout the process to avoid contamination. Homemade luffa water can easily spoil if stored improperly, so it is recommended to extract only small amounts for immediate use. Individuals with sensitive skin should perform a skin test before use to ensure safety.
