Xiuzhen mushrooms are not considered typical "trigger foods" in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). For most healthy individuals, consuming them does not cause discomfort and can provide valuable nutrition. However, if symptoms such as rashes, itching, or difficulty breathing occur after eating them, medical attention is recommended.

From a TCM perspective, "trigger foods" are those that may easily provoke pre-existing conditions or worsen current symptoms. Xiuzhen mushrooms, however, are considered neutral in nature and rich in protein, vitamins, and minerals. Regular consumption safely provides nutritional benefits for most people and is unlikely to cause significant reactions like seafood or spicy foods.
Nonetheless, it should be noted that Xiuzhen mushrooms are a type of fungus, and some individuals may be allergic to fungi. Allergic reactions could manifest as skin symptoms. Additionally, if someone is experiencing an acute flare-up of skin inflammation, respiratory illness, or other conditions, their body's sensitivity may be heightened, and consuming Xiuzhen mushrooms might indirectly aggravate symptoms. In such cases, consumption should be avoided.

When cooking, opt for light methods such as stir-frying with minimal oil or making soups, avoiding heavy oil or spicy seasonings.
