Introduction
A fetal heart rate of 165 beats per minute during NT scan is generally normal. The normal fetal heart rate range in early to mid-pregnancy is 110–160 beats per minute. A rate of 165 bpm is slightly above the upper limit but often represents physiological variation and is usually not a cause for concern. However, if repeated measurements show a fetal heart rate persistently exceeding 180 beats per minute or below 110 beats per minute, medical evaluation is recommended.

During the NT scan, a fetal heart rate of 165 beats per minute is generally considered normal. The normal fetal heart rate range in early to mid-pregnancy is 110–160 beats per minute. A rate of 165 bpm is slightly above the upper limit but often reflects physiological fluctuations and does not require excessive concern. If repeated measurements show a fetal heart rate persistently exceeding 180 beats per minute or below 110 beats per minute, medical evaluation is recommended.

The NT scan is typically performed between 11 and 13 weeks and 6 days of gestation. At this stage, the fetal heart is not yet fully mature, so the heart rate is naturally faster and more prone to fluctuations due to stimulation. Fetal movement, maternal anxiety, or mild oxygen insufficiency during the examination may temporarily elevate the heart rate, which is a normal physiological response.

A single reading slightly above the normal upper limit should not cause anxiety, as the fetal heart rate usually returns to normal after rest. Clinically, assessing whether the fetal heart rate is abnormal requires evaluating multiple measurements along with the overall fetal development. A single reading of 165 bpm without other abnormal indicators is typically not considered pathological.

During pregnancy, it's important to maintain a regular sleep schedule and avoid staying up late, stay relaxed and minimize emotional fluctuations, eat a balanced diet rich in nutrients, and avoid strenuous exercise. Attend all scheduled prenatal checkups—including the NT scan and唐筛 (Down syndrome screening)—on time, closely monitor fetal development, and provide a healthy environment for the growing fetus.
