Introduction
Nosebleeds in men may be caused by dry nasal passages, emotional excitement, physical trauma, rhinitis, high blood pressure, etc. Symptoms can be improved through nasal moisturization, calming emotions, local care, and medication. If nosebleeds occur frequently or involve heavy bleeding, prompt medical attention is necessary. Dry climate or insufficient water intake can lead to dehydration of the nasal mucosa, increasing blood vessel fragility and the risk of rupture and bleeding, often accompanied by dryness and itching in the nasal cavity.

Male nosebleeds may be caused by dry nasal passages, emotional excitement, external trauma, rhinitis, hypertension, and other factors. Symptoms can be improved through nasal moisturization, calming emotions, local care, and medication. If bleeding occurs frequently or is excessive, prompt medical attention is necessary.

1. Dry nasal passages: Dry climates or insufficient water intake can lead to dehydration of the nasal mucosa, increasing blood vessel fragility and making them prone to rupture and bleeding, often accompanied by dryness and itching in the nose. It is recommended to use a saline nasal spray to keep the nasal cavity moist, increase fluid intake, and avoid picking the nose.

2. Emotional excitement: Intense emotional fluctuations can cause a temporary rise in blood pressure, increasing pressure in the nasal blood vessels and leading to sudden rupture and bleeding. It is advised to calm down with deep breathing, sit down, lean forward, and pinch the nostrils to stop the bleeding—avoid tilting the head backward.

3. External trauma: Nasal injury from impact can rupture blood vessels in the nasal cavity, possibly accompanied by swelling and pain in the nose, with varying amounts of bleeding. Immediately after injury, lower the head and press the nostrils with fingers for 10–15 minutes. Apply cold compresses to the nose within 48 hours to reduce swelling.

4. Rhinitis: Inflammation irritates the nasal mucosa, causing congestion and swelling, which makes blood vessels more likely to rupture, accompanied by symptoms such as nasal congestion, runny nose, and sneezing. Under medical guidance, medications such as budesonide nasal spray, loratadine tablets, and *Biyuan Tongqiao Granules* may be used to relieve symptoms.

5. Hypertension: Poor long-term blood pressure control can lead to hardening and rupture of small arteries in the nasal cavity, often resulting in one-sided, heavy bleeding. Patients should follow medical advice to take antihypertensive medications such as nifedipine sustained-release tablets, irbesartan capsules, or amlodipine tablets to manage symptoms.

Maintain appropriate indoor humidity, drink plenty of water to keep nasal passages hydrated, avoid forceful nose-blowing or nose-picking, eat a light diet avoiding spicy and irritating foods, and regularly monitor blood pressure to support both nasal and overall health.
