Electric mosquito-repellent liquids contain pyrethroid-based active ingredients. Reputable products comply with safety standards regarding dosage. However, infants’ respiratory systems and skin barriers are still immature; prolonged exposure to these agents in enclosed spaces may irritate the airways, leading to symptoms such as coughing, tearing, and pruritus. Physical mosquito prevention methods should be prioritized—mosquito nets represent the safest option. If using electric mosquito-repellent liquid, place it well away from the infant’s crib, ensure adequate room ventilation by keeping windows open, and activate it before bedtime—but turn it off during sleep. Avoid running it overnight in a sealed bedroom where the infant sleeps, to prevent continuous accumulation of the chemical agent.

Routinely implement household mosquito control measures: install window screens and use mosquito nets to physically block mosquitoes. Maintain good indoor ventilation and minimize reliance on chemical repellents. Monitor your baby’s breathing and skin condition closely; discontinue use of any repellent immediately if abnormalities arise.
