How to Prevent Henoch-Schönlein Purpura in Children
Children’s bodies are not yet fully developed, making their skin more prone to allergic reactions—such as Henoch-Schönlein purpura (HSP) in children. So, how can pediatric HSP be prevented? Specific preventive measures are outlined below:
① Enhance Immunity
Encourage regular physical exercise to strengthen the child’s constitution and overall health, thereby effectively reducing exposure to triggers of pediatric HSP. Vaccination should be avoided until the condition has fully resolved and recovery is complete.

② Maintain Good Hygiene
Pay close attention to personal hygiene: wash hands frequently; avoid consuming unwashed fruits and vegetables; cook vegetables thoroughly before eating to prevent intestinal infections and parasitic infestations—both of which may trigger pediatric HSP.
③ Avoid Allergens
Minimize exposure to known allergens, including certain medications and foods, household cleaning agents, paints, dust mites (often harbored in carpets), and insecticides—all of which may directly trigger pediatric HSP.
