How to Prevent Henoch-Schönlein Purpura in Children
Children’s bodies are still developing, making their skin more prone to allergic reactions—such as Henoch-Schönlein purpura (HSP). So, how can HSP in children be prevented? Specific preventive measures are as follows:
① Enhance Immunity
Encourage regular physical exercise to strengthen the child’s constitution and overall health, thereby effectively reducing exposure to triggers of HSP. Vaccination should be avoided until the condition has fully resolved.
② Maintain Good Hygiene
Emphasize personal hygiene—frequent handwashing is essential. Avoid consuming unwashed fruits and vegetables; instead, thoroughly cook vegetables before eating to prevent intestinal infections and parasitic infestations, both of which may trigger HSP.
③ Avoid Allergens
Minimize exposure to known allergens, including certain medications and foods, household cleaning agents, paints, and dust mites commonly found in carpets. Insecticides and similar chemical agents may also directly trigger HSP in children.
