Introduction
Heat Therapy: Swelling following circumcision can be alleviated with warm compresses; edema typically begins to subside within 5–10 minutes. Medication Therapy: Strictly adhere to your physician’s instructions when using prescribed medications to effectively prevent wound infection. Dietary Management: After surgery, avoid spicy and otherwise irritating foods, as well as alcohol.

Post-circumcision edema is a normal physiological phenomenon and can be managed through three approaches: warm compress therapy, pharmacological treatment, and dietary modification.

① Warm Compress Therapy

Warm compresses can effectively alleviate post-circumcision edema. Patients typically begin to notice gradual resolution of the swelling within approximately 5–10 minutes after application.

② Pharmacological Treatment

Strictly adhere to your physician’s instructions when using prescribed medications to promote resolution of edema and prevent wound infection. Additionally, regular follow-up visits are essential prior to complete wound healing to monitor progress and timely replace topical medications as needed.

③ Dietary Modification

After surgery, men should avoid spicy, irritating foods and alcoholic beverages, as these may exacerbate edema and impede wound healing. Increased fluid intake is also recommended to dilute urine and minimize potential irritation to the surgical site.
