Is 20% coronary artery stenosis reversible?
Disease description:
Recently, I experienced discomfort in my chest and underwent coronary angiography at the hospital, which revealed a 20% narrowing of the coronary artery. I would like to know whether a 20% coronary artery stenosis is reversible.
This condition is generally irreversible; treatment focuses on stabilizing the current status and preventing further disease progression. Typically, medications—including antiplatelet agents, lipid-lowering drugs to stabilize atherosclerotic plaques, and blood-activating and stasis-resolving agents—are prescribed. We recommend consulting a cardiologist at a hospital for comprehensive evaluation, including relevant tests such as complete blood count, electrocardiogram (ECG), chest X-ray, echocardiography, and coagulation function tests, to establish a definitive diagnosis and guide appropriate pharmacotherapy.
