What Are the Symptoms of Periostitis?
Disease description:
Recently, I’ve been experiencing persistent pain in my bones and joints, and I’m concerned that I might have periostitis. What are the symptoms of periostitis?
Symptoms of periostitis include bone and joint pain, possible functional impairment, and, in severe cases, joint deformity. Periostitis is most commonly caused by chronic overuse or infection, which may lead to discomfort in the bones and joints. Treatment typically involves nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) for pain relief and inflammation control—for example, sustained-release ibuprofen capsules.
