Hemolysis is a common hematological disorder, also known as hemolytic anemia. For patients with hemolysis, the following tests are required: First, a complete blood count (CBC), which primarily assesses white blood cell (WBC) count, hemoglobin (Hb) level, and platelet count. The normal WBC range is typically 4–10 × 10⁹/L; normal hemoglobin levels are 120–160 g/L in males and 110–150 g/L in females. The normal platelet count ranges from 100–400 × 10⁹/L. If a patient’s hemoglobin level falls below the normal reference range, anemia should be considered. Additionally, coagulation function and the “three hemolysis markers” (i.e., serum haptoglobin, lactate dehydrogenase [LDH], and indirect bilirubin) must be evaluated.
