Is a triglyceride level of 3.11 mmol/L (or mg/dL) considered severe?
Disease description:
Due to my family history of heart disease, I went to the hospital for a check-up. Could you please tell me whether a triglyceride level of 3.11 mmol/L is considered serious?
This is not a severe condition, but the lipid levels are somewhat elevated. Hyperlipidemia can lead to arterial hardening and the formation of atherosclerotic plaques, thereby worsening cardiac disease. Active treatment is essential. Under your physician’s guidance, lipid-lowering medications should be taken to control blood lipid levels. Additionally, adopt a light, balanced diet—avoid spicy, stimulating, and greasy foods—and consume more vegetables, fruits, and other vitamin-rich foods. Engage in appropriate physical exercise and maintain a healthy body weight.
