How to treat low high-density lipoprotein (HDL) levels
Disease description:
Recently, during a blood test, I was told that my high-density lipoprotein (HDL) level is slightly low. How is low HDL treated?
Low high-density lipoprotein (HDL) levels may be related to dietary factors. HDL is generally beneficial for vascular, cardiac, and cerebrovascular health when present at higher levels; thus, relatively elevated HDL levels are preferable. To improve low HDL levels, it is recommended to increase consumption of seafood—such as fish and shrimp—which can effectively support HDL elevation.
