Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a connective tissue disorder primarily triggered by genetic factors and external stimuli. As it is non-infectious—lacking any pathogenic organism—it is not contagious, and there is no need for concern regarding transmission. In terms of treatment, oral hydroxychloroquine is generally recommended; it may be used in combination with tripterygium glycosides or oral thymosin enteric-coated tablets. Intravenous administration of glucocorticoids is also commonly employed. For cutaneous erythematous lesions, topical application of compound clobetasol propionate cream demonstrates certain therapeutic efficacy.
