How is hypoxemia treated?
Disease description:
Today, it was discovered that the child’s blood oxygen level is insufficient, which has caused us great concern. Could you please explain how hypoxemia is treated?
Hypoxemia refers to a condition in which the partial pressure and concentration of oxygen in the blood fall below normal levels. It is most commonly caused by disorders of the central nervous system or respiratory system, leading to impaired pulmonary ventilation and gas exchange. Treatment of hypoxemia requires oxygen therapy, which may include nasal cannula oxygen delivery, face mask oxygenation, noninvasive mechanical ventilation, or even invasive mechanical ventilation. Symptoms can be improved through oxygen therapy or hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
