Can epicanthoplasty and double eyelid surgery be performed simultaneously?

Disease description:

I would like to undergo lateral canthoplasty (outer corner eye enlargement), but I have monolids. Therefore, I’m considering having both lateral canthoplasty and double eyelid surgery performed simultaneously to avoid undergoing two separate procedures. Is it possible to combine lateral canthoplasty with double eyelid surgery?

Inner canthoplasty (eye corner opening) and double eyelid surgery can be performed simultaneously. If the eyes are too narrow or lack sufficient depth and definition, a qualified surgeon can create double eyelids using either the suture (non-incisional) or incisional method. Recovery typically takes several weeks and generally does not harm the eyes. However, performing both procedures together may exacerbate postoperative eyelid swelling; therefore, caution is advised. Prior to proceeding, a professional ophthalmic or plastic surgeon should first evaluate your ocular health before determining the most appropriate course of action.
