What are the effects of inner canthoplasty?
Disease description:
My eyes appear somewhat small, and my doctor recommended performing an inner canthoplasty. What are the effects of inner canthoplasty?
The effect of medial canthoplasty (inner canthus surgery) is relatively pronounced: it can eliminate epicanthal folds, making the eyes appear more lively and expressive, and somewhat larger. Medial canthoplasty is a common cosmetic procedure, primarily indicated for individuals with excessive epicanthal folds. However, for patients with microphthalmos (abnormally small eyes), medial canthoplasty alone yields limited improvement; instead, enlargement of the palpebral fissure is required.
