What are the symptoms of pelvic infection?
Disease description:
Recently, I’ve been feeling unwell. When I visited the hospital, the doctor diagnosed me with pelvic infection. What symptoms can occur with this condition?
Symptoms of pelvic infection primarily include persistent lower abdominal pain, increased vaginal discharge with an unpleasant odor, and menstrual irregularities. Additional symptoms may include fever and chills. If pelvic inflammatory disease progresses to a pelvic abscess, compression of adjacent tissues can cause corresponding pressure-related symptoms—for example, compression of the rectum may lead to abdominal distension and diarrhea, while compression of the bladder may result in urinary urgency and dysuria.
