I have developed granuloma annulare on my skin. I’ve heard it can resolve spontaneously—can granuloma annulare truly resolve on its own?

Granuloma annulare may resolve spontaneously, though this varies from person to person. The exact etiology remains unclear in current clinical medicine, and no highly effective treatment is yet available. However, if the skin lesions are localized and asymptomatic, spontaneous resolution is possible; thus, observation without intervention may be appropriate. In contrast, if symptoms are prominent, spontaneous resolution is less likely. In such cases, local treatments—including topical or intralesional medications and physical modalities—can help alleviate symptoms. Systemic therapy may be considered when necessary.
