Dr. Huang Wenxiang
Hepatitis C is typically transmitted via blood, sexual contact, and mother-to-child transmission—for example, through blood transfusions or blood products, as well as through contact with broken skin or mucous membranes. It can also spread via close personal contact and vertical (mother-to-child) transmission. If diagnosed with hepatitis C, patients generally require antiviral therapy under a physician’s guidance—such as entecavir—and hepatoprotective agents—such as glycyrrhizin preparations—to support liver recovery. In severe cases, liver transplantation may be necessary.
