There is no single “best” treatment for alopecia areata. Management typically focuses on symptom relief and disease control through methods such as scalp massage and pharmacotherapy. For instance, massaging the Baihui (GV20) and Taiyang (EX-HN5) acupoints three times daily—morning, noon, and evening—can enhance scalp blood circulation and deliver adequate nutrients to hair follicles, thereby offering some improvement in alopecia areata. When necessary, topical agents—including nitrogen mustard hydrochloride solution and minoxidil tincture—may be used under the guidance and supervision of a physician.
