Can babies soak in hot springs?
Disease description:
Last year, my baby was still very young and we never went out. This year, my baby is two years old, and my husband would like to take the whole family to soak in hot springs. I’d like to ask: Is it safe for a toddler to soak in hot springs?
Babies should not soak in hot springs. Due to their underdeveloped immune systems, they are highly susceptible to colds. Moreover, the water in hot springs may increase the risk of infection in babies. Additionally, a baby’s skin is delicate, and the relatively high temperature of hot spring water is unsuitable for infant skin, potentially causing burns or hypoxia. If hypoxia occurs, it can lead to respiratory distress and may result in severe consequences for the baby’s brain.
