To diagnose genital warts, you should visit the Dermatology and Venereology Department. Genital warts are a viral infection caused by human papillomavirus (HPV), which primarily affects the urogenital tract or perianal region. The disease is mainly transmitted through sexual contact; thus, it is classified as a sexually transmitted infection (STI). Consequently, patients with suspected genital warts are generally advised to consult the Dermatology and Venereology Department. That said, if the warts occur in the perianal area, some patients may seek care from the Proctology Department, while women with external genital warts may visit the Gynecology Department. Nevertheless, the Dermatology and Venereology Department remains the optimal choice for diagnosis and management of genital warts.
