Itching of the skin on the lower legs may be caused by dry skin—particularly during autumn and winter, when sebum production decreases, leading to dryness and flaking of the stratum corneum. In such cases, topical application of vitamin E ointment to the affected area can help alleviate symptoms. Itching of the lower leg skin may also stem from systemic diseases—for example, diabetes mellitus, chronic kidney disease, or hematologic disorders—which can impair blood circulation and trigger localized pruritus. It is recommended to consult a physician for diagnostic evaluation and subsequent etiology-directed treatment.
