Symptom Chart Following Mite Bites
Disease description:
What do the symptoms of a mite bite—such as red patches and blisters on the skin—look like?
The venom injected by mite bites can cause mild to severe local symptoms. One such condition is papular urticaria, whose symptoms become increasingly apparent and itchy over 2–3 days, gradually subsiding within 5–7 days. Besides mites, other biting insects include bedbugs, fleas, and mosquitoes. Another type of mite—the demodex mite—can be found on the nose and face. This mite causes a rash resembling rosacea, which is not visible to the naked eye.
