What are the symptoms of mite bites?
I have been bitten by mites. What are the symptoms?

Mite bites are mainly caused by house dust mites, trombiculid mites, and chiggers. After being bitten by mites, patients usually develop a series of symptoms. Common symptoms include:
1. Mite bites can cause intense itching of the skin, with symptoms often worsening at night.
2. Skin manifestations at the bite site commonly include redness (erythema), papules, vesicles, and bullae. These skin lesions may be accompanied by swelling and pain.
3. Allergic reactions: Some individuals may be allergic to mite saliva or excretions, leading to more severe allergic reactions such as generalized rashes, asthma, and rhinitis. Long-term exposure to mite-infested environments may also lead to chronic respiratory diseases.
4. Risk of infection: Improper management of wounds caused by mite bites can easily lead to bacterial infections, manifested as increased local redness and swelling, or abscess formation. When bacteria enter the body along with mite saliva, they may cause intracranial infections leading to symptoms such as headache. Eyelid swelling is typically caused by a localized hypersensitivity reaction following a mite bite on the eyelid.
5. Psychological effects: Persistent itching and discomfort may affect sleep quality, potentially causing anxiety or depression.
