What Should I Do If I Develop Mouth Ulcers While Wearing Braces?
Disease description:
I recently underwent orthodontic treatment, and over the past two days, I’ve developed mouth ulcers. What should I do about mouth ulcers caused by wearing braces?
Oral ulcers that occur during orthodontic treatment can be treated with topical applications of ulcer-healing powders (e.g., “Ulcer Powder”) or watermelon frost. Systemic anti-inflammatory medications—such as amoxicillin or cefixime—may also be prescribed to promote ulcer healing. Additionally, maintaining good oral hygiene is essential: patients are advised to brush their teeth and rinse their mouth promptly before and after meals to help prevent the development of oral ulcers.
