What symptoms does oral mucositis present?
Disease description:
I’ve developed mouth ulcers these past few days, causing significant pain. I was told it’s oral mucositis. What symptoms does oral mucositis present?
Oral mucositis is characterized by symptoms such as redness, swelling, and pain. Patients may manage the condition with topical medications, enhance their immune function, engage in regular physical activity, and avoid spicy, irritating, greasy, or cold foods. White lesions or lacy (reticular) changes in the oral mucosa are characteristic features—commonly observed in oral lichen planus, which is associated with endocrine disturbances and hormonal imbalances.
