How to Alleviate Pharyngeal Erosion and Pain After Radiotherapy for Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma
Disease description:
I have nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Recently, after undergoing radiotherapy, I’ve experienced pharyngeal mucositis. How can I alleviate the ulceration, swelling, and pain in my throat following radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma?
After radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma, patients may experience pharyngeal erosion, swelling, and pain. Under a physician’s guidance, treatment with heat-clearing and detoxifying medications may be administered, along with nebulized inhalation therapy or intravenous fluid therapy. Dietary adjustments are also beneficial: patients should consume liquid or semi-liquid foods—such as egg drop soup, loofah soup, or millet porridge. Additionally, appropriate outdoor physical activity is encouraged to enhance overall physical fitness.
