Being bitten by bed bugs may cause symptoms such as itching and blisters on the skin. In individuals with sensitive skin, larger blisters and extensive redness and swelling may occur, accompanied by intensified pain and itching; scratching may break the skin and predispose to secondary infection. It is recommended to apply a cold compress using a cold towel to the affected area to relieve itching. Alternatively, under medical supervision, topical anti-inflammatory and antipruritic medications—such as triamcinolone acetonide urea cream or dexamethasone ointment—may be applied for treatment.
