I started taking Yasmin oral contraceptive pills last month, and I’ve been experiencing frequent bleeding recently. I’m not sure whether I should take any hemostatic medications. Could you advise which hemostatic drug is appropriate for bleeding caused by Yasmin?

Bleeding while taking Yaz is considered a side effect and generally does not require special hemostatic medications. Yaz is a combined estrogen-progestin oral contraceptive, and light bleeding may occur during use, mostly presenting as slight vaginal bleeding. If bleeding persists, Estrace (estradiol valerate) may be considered. However, if the bleeding is excessive, it is recommended to discontinue Yaz immediately and seek medical attention at a hospital promptly.
