Can ultrasound detect nuchal cord?
Disease description:
I'm in the late stage of pregnancy and I'm not sure whether my baby might have nuchal cord. I'd like to ask, can an ultrasound detect nuchal cord?
B-mode ultrasound (B-ultrasound) can typically detect nuchal cord. In late pregnancy, after the umbilical cord wraps around the fetal body surface, B-ultrasound examination can not only reveal nuchal cord but also identify cord wrapping around the abdomen and limbs. It is recommended that fetal movements be closely monitored during the second and third trimesters; if any abnormality in fetal movement occurs, prompt medical evaluation at a hospital is advised.
