Does a nuchal cord mean you must always sleep on your left side?

Disease description:

The other day, I went to a hospital for a checkup. After the examination, I found out that the baby had some cord around the neck. I've heard that sleeping positions may help improve this condition. Do I really have to sleep on my left side if the baby has nuchal cord?

Pregnant women with nuchal cord should always sleep on their left side. In the later stages of pregnancy, sleeping on the left side is recommended to optimize blood flow to the fetus, not because of nuchal cord. It's important to monitor fetal movements regularly in daily life, avoid spicy and irritating foods, and consume more fresh vegetables and fruits to help determine the due date. If a nuchal cord is present, close attention should be paid to fetal activity during the late stages of pregnancy to prevent fetal hypoxia in the uterus.
