Prednisone, also known as prednisolone acetate, is primarily a glucocorticoid drug with potent anti-inflammatory, antiallergic, antirheumatic, and immunosuppressive effects. Specifically, it has a strong anti-inflammatory action, reducing the tissue's response to inflammation, thereby alleviating inflammatory manifestations and inhibiting the accumulation of macrophages, white blood cells, and other inflammatory cells at the site of inflammation.
