Recently, I've had severe internal heat (fire), and the inside of my nose is sore and painful. I would like to know what causes internal heat in the nose?

Nasal "fire" (heatiness) is mainly caused by dryness in the lungs affecting the nasal passages. Symptoms typically include frontal headache, nasal congestion, yellow and turbid nasal discharge, and even headache and pharyngitis. It can be relieved by taking traditional Chinese medicines that clear lung fire and soothe liver stagnation, such as Qingfei Yihuo Tablets (Clear Lung and Inhibit Fire Tablets) and Sanhuang Tablets. Avoid staying up late, and maintain regular, sufficient sleep and rest, as熬夜 depletes bodily yin fluids and easily leads to heat buildup. Drink plenty of water, consume more fresh fruits and vegetables, and eat light foods, all of which greatly help eliminate internal heat and toxins.
