What are the treatment methods for complications caused by cholecystitis?
Disease description:
I recently developed cholecystitis, and for the past few days I've been experiencing hematemesis (vomiting blood), nausea, and fatigue. My doctor said it's due to complications. I would like to know what treatments are available for complications caused by cholecystitis.
Patients with cholecystitis often develop the following complications:
1. Gallbladder perforation—perforations usually occur at the bottom or neck of the gallbladder and require emergency surgical removal of the gallbladder, followed by intensified anti-infective treatment postoperatively.
2. Formation of biliary-enteric fistula—acute gangrenous cholecystitis and gallbladder perforation may lead to communication with adjacent organs, resulting in internal fistulas. Patients commonly present with chills, high fever, and abdominal pain, and most cases require surgical intervention.
It is recommended that patients follow a light diet during treatment and avoid intake of spicy or irritating foods.
