Iron deficiency anemia is not related to weakly positive stool tests. Weakly positive fecal transferrin is associated with certain conditions such as viral hepatitis, cirrhosis, and gastrointestinal bleeding. If there is a clear history of overeating or binge drinking leading to upper gastrointestinal ulcers or hemorrhage, and if occult blood in the stool is positive, gastroscopy and colonoscopy should be performed. Anti-anemia red blood cell preparations should be administered according to the severity of anemia to prevent severe dizziness and nutritional loss.
