Colonic polyps generally cause a sensation of anal heaviness or rectal prolapse. Colonic polyps refer to elevated lesions within the colon lumen. They present with various clinical manifestations, the most common being symptoms of bowel irritation. If polyps are complicated by inflammation or ulceration, patients may experience abdominal pain, loose stools, and increased frequency of defecation, sometimes accompanied by a feeling of rectal prolapse. In rare cases, patients with colonic polyps may develop severe diarrhea, dehydration, acidosis, and electrolyte imbalances.
