Rest as much as possible and reduce excessive local activity; avoid strenuous exercise. Allow the injured muscle to rest and elevate the affected limb to prevent further injury. Apply an ice pack or cold towel to the injured area for cold compression. Apply gentle pressure to the affected area, but be careful not to wrap too tightly. If the patient experiences severe pain, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as ibuprofen, may be administered appropriately. For patients whose symptoms do not improve with conservative treatment, prompt medical evaluation is recommended. Relevant examinations should be performed to clarify the condition, and surgical intervention should be considered if necessary.
